top one has the most promise...avoid using photos b/c they dont translate well in b&w or at smaller sizes...take the idea from the top one but maybe try incorporating something a bit more housey than the circle...dont get too literal but reference the shapes as you did in the bottom logo...i would suggest using a more blocky sans serif typface to convey strength & stability...avoid the curviness of type like bauhaus
that being said simplicity is the key...create a combination of a mark & type that is recognizeable but not overwhelming or "schnazzy"
