yeah, the digi001 might be cheaper, depending on what you need to do. is he trying to do some intersive recording or is it just little things? (i do putzy things on mine.. interface sounds, little guitar here and there).
oh, and fyi though, my powerbook freezes and needs a reboot whenever i plug in the quattro and turn it on, but minus that once it's working, it works great. (never had a prob on the PC at all with it though)
