I just got back from spending 2 weeks in Spain - Barcelona, Madrid and a shit-hole called Benidorm and was very unimpressed. The architecture was great in Barcelona and Madrid and they definitely have a happening nightlife/social life but I just found a lot of people rude. There's a strange sense of arrogance and I couldn't really understand why? I was expecting this in Paris and maybe Germany, but it couldn't have been more opposite.
For me the whole lifestyle was just not my steez, a little too easy-going I suppose.
I too, am currently trying to relocate to the EU, either Amsterdam or the UK which I definitely liked much more than Spain. Anyhow, to each is own, I know tons of people that have been to Spain and love it, and never felt any of the vibes I was feelin'.
