if the bully is tenacious, and invokes his/her illwill on victims as a routine, apathy can sometimes only prolong the matter and cause a serious build up of stress... no one gets paid enough to put up with that... not me at least. eventually you just snap and which usually worsen the situation.
confrontation can also lead to worst case scenarios, but hey, you'll feel good about yourself because you'll know you did the right thing and didn't back down or simply play games with them. i have zero tolerance for games.
