Maybe he wanted to call you from 5pm but he was so nervous that it took him 6 hours to work up the courage. I've been there myself, sweaty palmed, number dialed, all I had to do was hit "call" and just couldn't do it, eventually yes, but it was a bit of mental global thermo-nuclear war.
He may have wanted to be non-chalant about the whole thing by calling at 11pm. Who knows what >his< friends told him to do. I mean according to this thread you would've ended up going there carrying an actual mace and scratching yourself vigorously while performing oral sex.
So glad I'm shacked up.
