i agree with praktiv... you design for content, a visual delivery that communicates the message in the meaning and design it was meant to be in ... as so created by you.
besides, awards are given out so much left and right, who is to say what is authoritative or not.
but if you need to, go for the design entries of CA, print, how, ID. those are widely known, prestigous.
and yes. i have won some awards. but that has got me nowhere.
