I don't see anything wrong with: 'work your ass off for no pay for the slight chance that you might get chosen'
The good will if everybody see your logotype during the olympics is priceless.
And it's no difference from pitching for a client (for free) it's a competition too. That's just the way this industry works.
I know Greg have done a HOT logotype and animation. Hopefully he will win it all.
