cheapest/best to get: starting from cheapest & best
the panasonic gs400, it's 1/4.7 3 ccd chips + $1,400
the panasonci dvc30, (well made & xlr jacks) also 1/4 3 ccd chip + $2200
finally, panasonic dvx1000, pure juice, everything you see now on tv is using one cause of the look + $3500
i would do the gs400, you can buy, for only $120, the beachtek xlr adapter if you really want it, but on the plus side, it's tiny, nondescript and the 16x9 image quality is suppose to be as good as the cannon xl1/s vesions...
