Something to note, WAS 2000 is definately overkill for anything he is trying to do.
Honestly, and this isn't because I loathe Windows servers, but he should just set up a small Linux box with Apache and such.
It is much easier, from a learning curve, standpoint.
WAS 2000 is overkill for anything below a 500-1000 person enterprise office building. Plus stability and complexity of setting up and maintaining the box.
I understand the "I got a new toy" sendrome, but seriously, WAS 2000 isn't that great.
It would take me more time to tell him how to set up this MS server, than to explain how to set up a Linux web server.
