The overall strategy (even once given the order to go in) isnt so much what has been criticised (even though there are problems there)... the most criticism I have seen in the media (from SAS reps etc) has been for the basics (cordons, tiered no-go zones, proper communication links for troops, precise orders) all the basics you would expect to be a no-brainer for the Russian special forces, and which made the situation worse when something finally happened... I think even us armchair critics could have planned that stuff better...
