  I'm doing it for the place I work for. So regardless of what direction it goes I will be doing it in the end and I would prefer to do something that I can put in my portfolio and be proud of.

  Basically I'm low on the totem pole as far as the decision making goes and I need some backup to help sway them to my concepts.

  Its a classic situation of having someone (me) knowing what they are doing but having someone else who is not as knowledgeable about the web making the decisions
