hey man.
welcome aboard.I've worked with a fair number of female programmers..
about 5 or 6 at this company alone..
my opinion of them is pretty high
incredible attention to detail, and all very gifted programmers.
a few were pretty senior, and the others were pretty junior...but all of them were very professional, and it was a great experience working with all of them.that said, i didn't have to teach them, and i'm on the design side of things...
however, one of my co-workers was a teacher, and one of the girls in question was one of his students..
and he said that she was pretty typical of the girls that were in the class..
there's not many..but the ones that are interested in it, are pretty damn good..thats my 2cents anyhow..
