Michigan to Arizona cost me about $2500 to move all mine and my fiances' stuff.
One quick thing to remember, moving expenses are TAXABLE, so ask for more than you think you need.
I was allowed $2000 by the company that moved me, but only got about $1600 after taxes were taken out and had to come up with almost a grand myself.
So in short, Don't be affraid to ask for more. I'd say you'll need anywhere from 2K to 3K to move from coast to coast, depending on how much shit you have.
