you could also do it with a bit of OOP or a function. ie
duplicate the movieclip then set the alphas to last alpha - (n) (n being what ever number you want) then you could just set the movement of each to be slightly slower than the last... yeah It prolly needs pictures and an example. But I am pretending to be busy so I can't really do one for you, however, If you want one doing mail me... It'll take about five mins or so.
