I have the Alpine CDA-7995 and love it! It has great mp3 support and sound quality is the tops. Only problem is that you need an external amp because the deck doesn't have one.
As for Pioneer, some of their decks have a 3 second delay between mp3 tracks - very annoying. Also the bottom and middle level aren't so hot. If you are set on Pioneer, go with the Premier line only.
Rockford Fosgate isn't so bad. I had the RFX-9110 for a year and never had a problem. Only beef is that the display only showed 12 characters of the song name.
