you must not care about you car. JVC's are horrible. i'd go with an Alpine. i'm saving to get

acutally JVC's are pretty good quality when it comes to car decks.. definately kick sony's ass. but i'm leaning to the Pioneer 7400 now

I know the quality of alpine, but dont u think they dont look that great.

and pioneer's quality = poo!
well at least for home audio..
when i was a car audio nerd it was all denon & vifa & PPIim rather happy with my stock honda radio & cd player. not much of a chance of that crap being stolen.

Yeah.. i have the factory 2003 civic stereo in mine and it isn't cutting it.

I was looking at the kenwood one.. it was actually the main unit i was looking at once.. then i started reading reviews on it and it completely turned me away.. reading stuff like skipping and loudness or quality of sound..

i don't care as much about looks, buy it to listen to it. i kind of dig the silver Alpine's this year though. i worked in stereo shop for a few years, we carried Alpine, JVC, Sony, Rockford, Nak's, Kenwood, Fryoneer, and Clarion. out of all those the Alpine's sounded the best. the kenwoods were cool, the clarions were just for looks, Rockford's were just horrible all around. Nak's were pretty badass to but didn't like their MP3 support.
the pioneer's aren't bad, cool face but sound quallity isn't there unless you pay the big buck for the high end decks.

well, maybe next year Aaron.

Don't buy JVC.
I had one for a while and it was crap. Bad reception, bad features, not so great sound.
I have a pioneer deh2400.
It's a little better. It has more features, but the sound is a little electronic at high volumes. Kind of like your inside a huge pipe or something.Next time I will go with Alpine or Sony.
Sony may make a lot of consumer crap, but the first cd player I put in my car was a sony, and it lasted through a few years of jamming until I wore out the volume button.

I really do think i like the look of this unit:

but, its a lil expensive, especially without an mp3 feature
- auricom0
hell yeah, that ones nice. you can even hook a iPod to it. that's one of the reasons i want it.

Anyone else have a problem with pioneer decks sounding very electronic (like you're in a big tube)?
Maybe someone got a fix for it?

Would you want to buy a used headunit?
I have one Im not using. Kenwood Brand. Dual Pre Amp Output. Quite nice.

recievers are usually a personal choice as are all car audio components.
some people like this some people like that.
it's like a computer, get one with the features you use now and one that can easily upgrade and is made by a company you feel comfortable with.
good luck with what ever you choose.
