You have to let your eyes adjust to it, 2 hours tops mabe a day, but i prefer it now. as for it being your CRT that might be it aswell, i was told that it works best on LCD but i have/am using it on a CRT and its seems to be same thing except the icons on the desktop there titles are more blurred because of the shadow.
