    Keep it simple whatever you write. Nothing worse than a whole raft of waffle that the recipient doesn't even read anyway.

    Your CV and/or portfolio should do the talking. If your sending by e-mail, dont even bother with a seperate letter. A quick blurb in the text should surfice.

    If by post, then you should put a letter in there stating expectations, where you saw the advert, why you want to work there and your notice period. Dont, I repeat dont take any text from your CV and dump it in the letter (i.e. experience and skills) waste of time.
