I've found it to be both useful and protective of my privacy.LinkedIn already has over 600,000 users, and they've gotten excellent reviews from Fortune, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, etc. LinkedIn is good for finding and reaching recommended employees, hiring managers and business partners. The great thing about how LinkedIn works is that people can only contact you through your friends and colleagues (like me), so you will only receive requests they consider good opportunities for you.
Basic membership in LinkedIn is free, and you can leave at any time if it's not interesting. I hope you'll try it out.
