    i'm not too sure if it's more than ever in art professions now. it used to be, because it used to be that if you did any type of art work on a computer, you used a mac. but since PCs got video cards like 15 years ago, that rule has slowly went away. some people still swear you have to use macs, only because they're misinformed. anyways, based on what i know, i'd say mac users in the art professions are slowly becoming less. generally, PCs can do what Macs can do, and Macs can do what PCs can do. the difference is PCs are cheaper and in my own personal experience, they need less maintenance. quite a few businesses are realizing this, including the place i work, as we just replaced our problematic G4 mac osx server with a pc server. we're planning on converting all workstations to PC in the very near future. but, like i said, macs and pcs are basically (keyword basically) the same. the price and selection of components/software is the main difference.
