NO!
Not another Mac vs Pc thread..I just want to know if anyone has a clue if the "Flash runs so-oo slow on Mac" problem will get better with time or if it will be like this forever..?
Cause me is thinking about buying a Mac..Any insiders?

j/k*
thought MX2004 deal with that issue for the Mac geezers.
*or am I?

flash runs really crap on my ibook with IE but runs just a little bit better with safari
still not perfect though which can be annoying

It's the player for the mac that sucks. So developing locally & remotely debugging etc. runs poorly and often crashes the app. It happens on the PC too, just not very often.

he is right though... when it comes to flash... I have a 5 year old pc that runs it better than a new mac
- ganon0
i would reckon you are kidding, being someone who has spent so much time wading through the tireless/pointless macPC debates here, you would have no interest in starting a new one....
- jevad0
what are you talking about - there has been no problem* with flash on a mac since flash 5!
* tricking tomkat
- ganon0
ha jevad....
- JamesEngage0
It doesn't help that flash tries to anti-alias all type even when you don't want it to.
- tomkat0
hehe, jevad..
but isn't macromedia interested in solving that problem?
a large number of their customers must be macusers, no?
- JamesEngage0
yeah but you can't get flash for iPod.

flash = the reason why i don't use my mac for anything other than testing and email
i haven't delved into mx2004 though so maybe it's been better, but for what i do in flash i don't want to upgrade yet
- jpea0
oh, and i wouldn't even own a mac if it wasn't that every art director in town uses a mac and constantly gave me a weird skeptical look when i brought in my old thinkpad for meetings.

Flash MX and MX 2004 PRO as well as all browser plug-ins(Safari, IE, and NS) Run awesome on my G5... So it is getting lightyears better.

MX2004 runs v.fast on my G5, not too bad on my G4 PB either.

Flash sites run so bad on my Mac that it has made me start to think Flash is worthless.
- aNearDetroit0
heavyarms : Its not Flash .. its the people using it. No one blames Photoshop or Illustrator for terrible posters

i think it's a processor issue. When the flash file isn't so heavy then it runs good. but if you want to tween some pictures larger than 600x800px or 300kb then it's really shit.

seems about right.. flash player for moz in linux is almost up to par i think with windows (my observations).. i think it's just that macromedia really dropped the ball for products for OSX. i'm sure that they sell a TON more product for windows than mac, but the bad thing is that if they continue to make crappy products people are going to migrate more and more to windows, thus making their customer base for their mac products non-existant.
