    1.6Ghz single proc here at work.
    Works great.
    the loudest thing is the harddrive.

    I'd wait until after the WWDC.
    Apple is long overdue for an update.

    You wouldn't wanna miss out on Dual 2.6Ghz with a 1.3 Ghz bus or a ridiculously powerful new video card.
    Or maybe an extra drive slot!
    Plus, 2nd generation machines are always better.

    as for cost - this has been argued a bajillion times
    Macs last longer, they have a MUCH higher resale value and you will spend far less time updating and fixing things than you would on Windows.

    It's a one time investment.
