The last legal challenge against gay marriage in massachusetts was struck down today. Several town halls will open on midnight sunday to take in early birds, and plan to stay open 24 hours. Apparently, it's gotten pretty hard to get a blood test in Massachusetts due to the high demand. Our mormon governor Romney wanted the city clerks to make couples take an oath that they were residents of Massachusetts (which is not required of straight couples), and most town clerks have openly refused to do so.
The actual marriages won't take place until Wednesday due to a three-day waiting period. The Episcopal church of Massachusetts declared today it wouldn't do gay marriages even though some of their bishops are in favor of the practice. Some are expected to perform them anyways in defiance of church doctrine.

I'm totally stoked...a new civil rights movement for our generation.
