I got a nice 18" LCD with a 75hz refresh at 1280x1024 a while back for 460, now i've seen it for 400 when there are sales. Typically their are four different LCD panels used across the board, thats what makes them all seem so similar. From my research Samsung and I think it is AUtronic are the brands to go with, sorry to hear yours has such a low refresh, that would be annoying 75 is and has always been a comfortable sync for me. BTW this is the Proview 1866 or something of that nature... and uses an AUtronic panel I do believe... we have the same monitors at work as we had to research for the best choice for price and specs that could run 1280x1024 at 75hz for an application that we're running in our financial offices... After looking at them I ended up picking one up for myself... I'm not let down at all, and I have a CRT next to it, and try to keep the calibration as good as I can on this....
