    You should definitely charge more. Our company charges $250/hr for almost everything. And we consistently get it. But if I were freelance consulting, i'd charge a lot less... probably around 150-200. The thing is, consulting should be based around ROI. So if you can make the client lots of cash, then the money they pay you is worth it.

    sometimes if we have a solution that will produce a lot of return, we'll bill based partly on commission. that way if we make them a mil, we get a percentage of it.

    businesses are used to this expense too. don't think about it like how you pay your graphic designers.
