Having now done the working for others nasty deed and now working for myself, I can tell you that there is no utopia.
Instead of pain in the a$$ management, I have pain in the a$$ clients, some of whom are allergic to check writing. At least with jerk management, you get a reliable paycheck.
On the other hand, I do get alot of freedom and can work in pajamas...and if I need a break I turn off my phone and step away.
The only answer is to live a rich, balanced life and enjoy every moment.
