well i wasn't saying just quit your job and be done with it all!!
Obviously you have rent and other bills to pay....so why not just try and find another job? I know you're redoing your portfolio right - well finish it and then get your CV done and just call/email/go and see companies that you may be interested in.
If nothing comes of it then stick at your current job until something comes up.
