EU suing Microsoft hurt USego did it? Less face facts. Microsoft is a transnational global corporation which operates, and has headquarters in many many countries. Not only does it have unrivalled control of US Desktops - but close to 90% of computers of the world run microsoft windows as an operating system. Monopolies are a problem in any industry. It stifles competition, it prevents innovation, it leads to inferior products and lack of a real choice - and ultimately consumers are ripped off.

Microsoft, through its OS monopoly has forced it's own products (Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player etc...) onto the consumer - not by being a better product, or by presenting the consumer with real choice - but by using its priveledged access to Windows code and its financial clout to remove competitors from the market - even if competitors offer a superior product.

Don't feel bad mr American. You gotta face it. Globalisation. These companies aren't urs. Just cos that's where they started. Stop paradin em round like a badge of honour. They exist on a supranational level. Even fuckin saddam hussein was running WIndows. Microsoft monoply hurts different ZONES in the world and if they wanna opertae in that ZONE they gotta follow the rules laid out. U gotta control this shit...The only reason EU did that to microsoft was to protect the growth and diversity of the European free market. Not to have a go at the US. So obvious Microsoft spin doctors would sell it to the US as a national issue. And Americans would react like this. If you want Microsoft to destroy competition is ur continent, fine.... Europe wants to promote competition and alternative for European consumers. That's their perogative. If you don't like it. PUll out of Europe...

    Pah...
