One person (msn address, first post) claiming to be of Japanese descent chiming in doesn't validate your idiocy.
Without expending much effort, you could probably find some whiny Americans who would burst into tears at the first utterance of the word "Yank" to refer to some article of American culture. Should the term be dropped from common usage?
It's your right to live in the past, fretting over an archaic usage of a geographical abbreviation that hasn't borne negative connotations since the filming of "Sands of Iwo Jima" (1949, John Wayne).
