the movie is hard to understand, possibly it isnt meant to, or you have your own perspective on it. when it said the world was ending, it was his world, he went back in time, then it went back to his house where the airplan crashed through. this time he was in bed, but he knew what happened and he just laughed and then died, then all of the other crap that happened cuz he was around didnt, and it was like alternate worlds, and he travelled through time back and died. very cool movie. :)
