I love names, granted there are a lot of bad names out there (including mine)... but I love to read the b.s. behind how someone came up with their name.
For example, i wanted something personal... My real name is dan marino (for those who live outside the states, he was a famous football player). needless to say, I couldn't get danmarino.com nor did I want it. So I made up my current name based on letters of my name to keep it personal.
As for design in the name, I don't think it is a bad think to have a little explanation in your url. Sometimes it is good for a user to see "something design" in a link so they know where they are going...
