Honda's = gutless and torqueless. And oddly enough, most stolen? I don't get the draw of Honda's. Sure they run like champs, but that's only part of the formula to me.
I'm currently driving a 99 Nissan Sentra. If you can get any of their cars with the 2.0 liter 4 cyl or 3 liter 6 cyl you'll be in good shape. Nissan parts are easy enough to come by and aren't that expensive. I've never heard of any serious issues with Maximas.
I would highly recommend looking for message boards of owners of your car of interest. They're out there. For nissans go to Nissanforums.com
