I'll give you an example of Architect-thinking. I might've written here prior, or perhaps on Discord, or NTC.
Years ago in Italy, I and some friend were asked to come and help move a cupboard down some stairs and into a garage.
Person asking was an architect, one of the other people helping was an architect, and then there was me and another guy who is someone who advises organisations on how to make wine.
I take one look at the stairs and the cupboard, and say bluntly - we need to take this thing apart. Wine guy agreed, to the point of insistence.
Cupboard owner and other architect insisted it could be done without taking it apart. Ok, fuckit,not my deal, so we go with it.
After a half hour, scraped paint from walls and cupboard finish, there was the gradual admission that perhaps it would've been better to take the thing apart, which we had to in-situ, half way down the stairs,whilst it sat at a jaunty angle,because it would;ve taken another half hour to get it back upstairs again.
Wine guy and I took it apart in about five minutes, then another few minutes to get it downstairs and set up again. Job done.

My step-father was an architect, of some renown. Smart enough guy to set up business concepts beyond his well-renowned Northern English practice.
In an absolute sense, of course not all architects are shite, but by god is it a profession filled with people who have very little common sense or even a handle on their own profession.
Please allow me my rant, in this most rantiest of threads, which comes from an earnest and well-comprehended place of experience.

- everyone thinks architects understand structure, whereas they rally haven't a clue. the people who make buildings stand up are the engineers...hans_glib

- My wife works with a lot of doctors.. and huge amount of them also missing the "common sense" area of the braindee-dubs
- i doubt that... i had 2 years of -tragwerkslehre- structural enginnering at university...u build and have to calculate quite a lot...its only later that uneverscared
