One of my local supermarkets started stocking Frank's Red Hot. Never having had but having seen it in I don't know how many recipes, I bought a bottle this afternoon.

    What a bitter, bitter disappointment.
It's probably the blandest, most characterless hot sauce I've tasted to date.

    • I really need to learn to keep my curiosity in check.Continuity
    • Horrible base sauce, really only used with butter for wings here. If you're looking for simple cayenne notes, go with Crystal or Louisiana.garbage
    • Frank's wing sauce is the only semi decent thing they make.garbage
    • Would that I could find either of those. Germany is still a bit of a "spicy stuff" (as the locals say) wasteland.Continuity
    • Franks is the most basic hot sauce there is. Not terrible, not exotic, not even that hot but I usually have a bottle in the fridge.fooler
    • You're no slouch in the kitchen, can 100% make it yourself. It's peppers, vinegar, salt and heat.garbage
