Our eldest daughter has accepted a job offer closer to home, full-time, double the salary, promotion opportunities, ongoing training... Amazing!
The only catch? A three-month trial period (paid), and she loses her previous job.
A mix of happiness and nerves!
*Obviously, I'm the one who's nervous.
- 3 months 'probation' is pretty standard in the UKMorning_star
- It seems like a lot to me, but I can't be objective. It's for a clinic, so it'll probably be standard...OBBTKN
- I'm sure she'll make it through with flying colours. Congratulations to both you and her.Morning_star
- Thanks!OBBTKN
- Nice!!!PonyBoy
- Keep previous job - 3 months trial is a joke in this economy sorry********
- She knows. But her previous job offered no room for growth, but this one does; she's young, she can still take risks.OBBTKN
- The trial period thing is something I'd only accept if I didn't have a full time job to begin with. That's a shit policy.CyBrainX
- It also nullifies their credibility as a company of fair business practice.CyBrainX
- Apparently she knows :(********
- A trial should only be 2-3 weeks. Also anyone can get laid off any time for no fault. Double salary and more potential = Go for it.bainbridge
