Pam Bondi, the Attorney General, reportedly ordered an urgent operation involving approximately 1,000 FBI agents to review around 100,000 documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In July 2025, Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, publicly disclosed that his office received information alleging Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered about 1,000 FBI agents to review some 100,000 documents related to Jeffrey Epstein in an urgent operation.

These FBI agents were reportedly instructed to work in 24-hour shifts and specifically told to “flag” any mention of Donald Trump found in the documents.

The agents, many from the FBI's New York field office, worked under intense pressure and within what Durbin characterized as an “arbitrarily short deadline” in March 2025.
