    “Hello to all of our MAGA friends,” Simion said Thursday on the “War Room” podcast hosted by Steve Bannon, a former Trump adviser and long-time cheerleader of international populists. “If all goes well,” Simion said, he would put Georgescu “back in the leadership of Romania.”

    George Simion, a nationalist who appears well placed to win the presidential election in Romania on Sunday, has promised to “Make Romania Great Again” and described himself as a “candidate on the MAGA ticket” of President Trump.
