The Perfect Albums thread is more like "some of my favorite albums" thread; By the look of it, lots of the albums on there are really good, but far far from perfect. Why do I care? I need another drink.

- Agreed. Another drink...sausages
- Plenty in there close to perfect - as there is no perfect album********

- Surely music holds different things for different people? I've posted some albums in there that perfectly capture a moment in my life.Ianbolton
- I see the reading here not as album that is perfect for you but perfect within itself.palimpsest
- not as *an albumpalimpsest
- Which doesn't mean that all the pieces in the album has to perfect themselves but essential to the album being what it is.palimpsest
- But if an album is perfect for you it's your perfect album. It's just different readings.palimpsest
- Indeed. Therefore Krassy's point of some being far from perfect is purely subjective in that sense.Ianbolton
- Whenever we talk we're always talking about semantics.
I wouldn't say it's subjective, not in the way I'm explaning it because I'm framing it a certain way.palimpsest - The reading of the *concept* of a perfect album is subjective, as every reading is.
But I think that my reading of a perfect album is less subjective...palimpsest - .... than the result of the albums proposed which seems to be a more subjective reading of the albums themselves.palimpsest
- That is to say, that I don't consider my favorite albums to be perfect ones.palimpsest
- It's like asking "What's your idea of ȧ perfect date?" and people answering "March 25th".palimpsest
- Saying that March 25th is perfect or far from perfect are both subjective readings of the date.palimpsest
- But answering "March 25th" is a more subjective reading of the question.palimpsest
- "March 25th" is a great band nameKrassy
