Fucking migraine.
- Feet in hot water has been making the rounds. Haven’t tried it yet, thoughGnash
- Glass of Cold COLD Ginger Tea + Ridiculously Cold Compress + Dark Room + Silence + Excedrin
or... if sensitive to acetaminophen, switch Excedrin to any NSAID <3PonyBoy - Lysine and ibuprophen takes care of the worst of it, if I catch it in time.i_monk
- <-this********
- darkness silence and a puke********
- Ouch, take care of it.OBBTKN
- What set it off?Nairn
- Do you get the aura? Thankfully I only have a few a year, but if I see the aura I go full rude mode. Blackout curtains, B-complex, and leave me the fuck alone.garbage
- Micodose LSDmoogchild
- +/- on microdosing during a migraine. I micro'd peyote to counter a heavy migraine that I didn't catch in time. #badideagarbage
- oof the worst - I get em now when low pressure system is incoming, can feel the weight of the low clouds/fog vising on my brain - get wellprophetone
- I caught this one before the aura former properly, but otherwise I always get an aura. Seasonal air pressure changes trigger mine.i_monk
- I used to get aura ones a lot, have worked to exclude as much sugar and also MSG from diet in past few years, now might get one or two aura ones a yearprophetone
- Or as I like to call them, “the shimmers” lolprophetone
- Before the newer meds came out I needed to inject imitrex for relief. Like Imonk, if I catch it early enough I don’t need to use the big gunsGnash
- Air pressure is interesting. I've noticed that mine come from weird sudden gloomy light conditions, where you end up with bright artificial lights conflicting.Nairn
- But thinking about it - the last ones I've had have been when the weather's been heavy and weird. I'd just assumed it was the light, prior to now...Nairn
- I call it “barometerhead” in that I can feel within 24 hours if a low pressure system is incoming, and as it settles in my head vises upprophetone
- It is especially noticeable when weather shifts are extreme esp in Fall and Spring when it’s sunny and clear, then suddenly heavy rain cloud fog rushes inprophetone
- I used to work with someone 20 years ago who described this effect on them and they had it bad and I wasn’t fully convinced at that timeprophetone
- It's also triggered by bright flashes of light or really dim lighting (Christmas tree lights are risky), yeah.i_monk
- Hey! So just y'day I noticed the weather suddenly change and whilst the light differed, there was a distinct 'heaviness' in the air and.. f'ing Migraine.Nairn
- I've just googled it and apparently - yeah - barometric pressure change IS a trigger. I've ALWAYS associated it with light, esp as first one I ever had (@~26)..Nairn
- ..was on a bright summer's day with absolutely no pressure change. I thought I had brain damage that first time, lol. I was SO fucking worried.Nairn
- Weird thing is - this one y'day was the first Migraine I've had that actually hurt a bit, like a headache. As well as the brain fug stupidity. Not fun.Nairn
- Also, the auras were massively diminished.
Usually I have no pain, but am rendered spastic-stupid and can't see for visual artefacts for an hour or two.Nairn - I had another today, cuaght it right as it started – lysine is my lord and saviouri_monk
- Damn son, how frequently do you get them?garbage
- 2–3 around the turn of the season.i_monk
- 2-3 too many, glad you caught itgarbage
