Was just asking OPEN AI a general question about "American Government" specifically to the current administration and their staff. It responded with a few paragraphs about how my home state structures the government.

Fucking weird and uncomfortable. I asked the relationship between the question and the answer. It said that it randomly bundled Michigan in the answer. So out of all the states in the country accidentally/randomly being picked to provide an answer, it picked the state I live in. If that doesn't make ya paranoid I don't know what does.

    • They have your IP (location) you know...

OpenAI also introduced long memory so everything you asked they have now and will use in the future.
      ********
    • If you activate Google's new AI tab during search you will notice it does the same thing...they include personal data such as location in the answer.yuekit
    • There’s a preamble that is hidden from you when you prompt ChatGPT. Something like ‘you are a helpful assistant that answers questions...’monNom
    • Within that preamble is probably some user information to help align responses to relevant information for you.monNom
    • It was lying about randomly selecting Michigan. It doesn’t know why it does what it does so it makes up plausible sounding answers.monNom
    • ^ That makes senseyuekit
