When you've spent so long thinking about how impossibly old you're going to be next birthday that you start thinking of yourself as next year's age - so when somebody asks you how old you are, you're entirely sure which age is correct - so you pick a number but have to say, no, hang on, erm, wait a minute, while you work it out backwards like an idiot.
