    Figma pdf suckery

So what you need is a proper adobe acrobat, and a custom profile set-up for print and pre-press.
All you need to do is to print that shit to PDF and its going to be fine.

and yeah CMYK is fucked, still. there is no support for spot colors etc.
    overall:
Don't use Figma its a trash product for people who have no fucking idea how to use adobe products and want to design only dumb-fuck templates.

    • I just exported a PDF from Figma, around 200MB, then opened it with Affinity Designer 2, resaved it and it was 75MB
      sRGB colors, but still workable...
      ********
    • But it's fair to say Figma is for digital product work, should not be used for print work unless you know what u're doing...
      ********
    • Also Figma just raised prices, it's time to go back to Sketch ehehehe
      ********
    • Even if the Adobe/Figma merger happened I doubt Figma would have gotten spot and offset color support; It's meant for other things, and so was XD.evilpeacock
    • Exactly.
      ********
    • also it's built for the browser, I don't think they can implement print features even if they wanted
      ********
    • They could easily incorporate CMYK and profiles but won’t.monospaced
    • Side note: my go-to AI-to-AE importer Overlord now works with Figma — except all my clients give me "read-only" docs to build from, so plugins can't be used.evilpeacock
    • @monospaced again talking about stuff you have no clue, again telling they really can't, they use WebGL as 2D render engine, sRGB+alpha sure, CMYK no
      ********
    • On the other hand, Sketch - as a native Mac app - could in theory support CMYK profiles
      ********
    • Love Overlord <3PonyBoy
    • I’m aware it’s web app, and that drawing to screen is RGB. Adding a print color space wouldn’t be impossible, as you imply.monospaced
    • Overlord is a great Illustrator plugin. It's comparable to AEC4D-PRO which sends Cinema 4D objects to AE.CyBrainX
    • to be fair Adobe's current spot color support is fucked. they are moving away from being a print friendly ecosystem every day.jonny_quest_lives
    • as mono pointed out getting something from srgb into CMYK isn't hard... it's just a conversion tablejonny_quest_lives
    • Optimizing for specialty print though... extra spot channel/plate, call outs for foil/emboss, varnish callout/platesjonny_quest_lives
    • that's degrees above a simple profile to profile conversionjonny_quest_lives
    • just my 2 centsjonny_quest_lives
    • Why is this in the Adobe thread
      ********
    • sted probably was in rage and couldn't find the Figma thread

      ********
    • yeah because i was fucking grafician mothers ass.
      @nb fuck off, that's why:

    • Small dick energy @sted
Figma is for big boys anyway, no wonder you have problems getting it to work
      ********
    • lol big boys?monospaced
    • hmm it almost makes me question wtf was my post about and why so many people agree, weird isn't?
      ********
    • the original objective behind Figma was to enable "anyone [to] be creative by creating free, simple, creative tools in a browser."
      ********
    • Did it not allow you to be creative
      ********
    • I mean lol at bringing up that mission statement or whatever
      ********
    • lol isn't that from Canva?!
