I don't get the nostalgia for them. As I remember it, their work wasn't very well received by the community and with reason. They were the Michael Bay of web design, taking all the techniques and innovation and making a horrible mess out of it.
It all looks as bad to me now as it did back then.

    • Knowing how to pull off an explosion does not make for a great movie.palimpsest
    • but if you're an amateur film maker wanting to make movies with explosions, then you're going to want to Know How.Nairn
    • Looking back at much of the old internet 'we' claim to love and miss, I can't help but feel a lot of it looked fucking awful.Nairn
    • Minds me of Enigma's first album - the tech made it so he could mix fucking pan pipes and Gregorian chanting, but the modern ear's like "wtf is this madness?!"Nairn
    • But at the time we thought it was amazing, because it had never been done.
Should never have been done, but there we were, amazed.

    • @palimp True, but you can't deny that his style is instantly recognizable ('splosions, bad writng, stupid plot).garbage
    • Nobody ever says "Ha, that's totally a Michael Haneke moment". They, say "Haha, Bay moment".garbage
