I haven't read this thread at all but I think that gay marriage is not the way.
Let me explain; I think that marriage is a dated thing in itself and should be reconsidered in its entirety.
Although I was raised in a religious household by the age of 14 I knew that this religion was not for me, I have never and will never subscribe to any prescribed indoctrination.
This is what leads me to consider marriage to be in need of updating, 99% of people I know that have got married are not religious people, they do not go to church, nor shrine, nor temple. All however wish to express their love for their chosen one and want it to be recognised by friends, society and the law.
Why should gay people be expected to have any less? They shouldn't, and they shouldn't be expected to have to beg to these man made religions in order to do so, it is archaic and wrong.
They should be allowed to live in whatever way, shape or form they wish as per we (heterosexuals) do, and be respected by the law as loving couples rather than shunned into some corner of undiservedness as many mainstreamers would have it.
Fuck that.
These days few people are religious and yet they insist on using and abusing these religious tenets for their own purpose, personally, I see no value in it.
