My mom moved into an independent/assisted living facility last month. She's met a lot of other elderly residents but they're all in various states of health. Memory loss, bad hearing, walkers, scooters, etc. After hearing her stories of meeting her new neighbors I asked if it would be helpful if she had a "business card" to hand out. Stuff like her name, room number, phone number, her interests - words with friends handle lol.
She's into it, so I'm doing it - fun to be designing something for the first time in a looooong time- Well I'm a (relatively) shit son!
Thanks @stoplying for upping the mother/son relationship(s) 'round here!
: )ideaist - You know the requests for these cards are going to come flooding in!mort_
- Might as well make a template for the whole facility :)monospaced
- Maybe some "do not disturb" signs for the doors toomonospaced
- Might want to add some other info too
https://uk.news.yaho…whatthefunk - Aw man. I dread the day my dearest mama gets to that stage in life. She's a spry and very active 71 year old, so it doesn't seem soon.jagara
- Cards are a good idea. Make it look pretty!jagara
- Sounds lovely. My gran went into a nursing home and ended up marrying the old guy next door. They had to wear name badges for the first 6 months or so!!Ianbolton
