Def a DUMB question but... Serious.
How do they mark hours/days/weeks/months in this world ??
Characters use words like “hours” “day” & “years” when speaking to each other but do they ever say things like
“aye, it’s Mundaey!!!! .... Bluddy Ell, I must get on mee dragon, my arse needs to be there at a.m. of the seven sharp.”
- Having wasted time reading some of the books years ago, I'll give what little I can remember:garbage
- There was a concept of "moon turns" or something like that, and after the moon turned enough times, that would be a year.garbage
- It seemed like it was going to be a concept, the GRRM was like.. "eh, it's the same as ours."garbage
- So not a dumb question, he made some money and went full DGAF on world-building.garbage
- IIRC correctly there seemed to be some idea that the Citadel in the Reach were holding power by literally telling people what day it was..garbage
- ..via the maesters and messenger birds. But again, GRRM got his bag, and he never fleshed any of these ideas out.garbage
- The biggest disappointment: Euron Greyjoy. In the books he's a drug-addled psychomancer that cuts the tongues off his crew so that he can listen to the Krakkengarbage
- In his boat named Silence. His goal is to trigger the end of the world at sea.garbage
- In the show? He wants to bang Cersei and dies on a beach.garbage
