We're on version 1,000 of Illustrator and it still doesn't have a dedicated image/photo frame tool, you have to cobble it together with a clipping path.
- Are you referring to masking and selection tools comparable to the ones in Photoshop?CyBrainX

- It's just below the the fill/stroke controls. There are 3: Draw in front/behind/inside. Apparently added around 2012 :)duckseason
