I am a solid month into this hobby and completely addicted, I fucking love riding!! Last Saturday I did my first ride over 40 miles! I felt so good after.

I'm looking forward to dropping some weight to gain power and speed and also excited about getting into group rides.

    • Good for you hijo!! Get Look pedals next time, you'll get used to them very fast...OBBTKN
    • Nice going! I'm a longtime cyclist and don't ride enough. Long rides are so satisfying. I do my best thinking that way.mg33
    • Attach a GoPro to your helmet and get some epic footage.utopian
    • OBB clipless pedals are next on my list but I am a little scared haha.HijoDMaite
    • nice broAQUTE
    • Get some gravel tires, pack some lunch and go find some trails! *Your pedals are perfect for it :)slappy
    • Fucking nice bro!garbage
    • @hijo I absolutely hate clipless, practice the detach to the point where it is complete muscle memory. I'm a straps guy when it comes to training bikes.garbage
    • @hijo San Diego county! Hello neighbor!Krassy
    • QBN meet up SoCal half century ride?HijoDMaite
    • I might wait a year or at least 9 months for the pedals. I want to really learn to ride and lose some weight first.HijoDMaite
    • @HijoDMaite i'm in! Let me buy a bike first. LOLKrassy
    • I can't stress enough: If you're not used to them, any clipless will result in eating shit even if they are dialed in and your cleats are perfect.garbage
    • Highly recommend toe straps, but that's my personal preference. Links:garbage

    • Toes give you all the pedaling power without the feeling of going the fuck down, and they can be strapped on the pedal you prefer.garbage
    • Yeah, toe straps might be the right segway to clipless. I’ll check them out thanks!HijoDMaite
    • I'd say go SPD pedals and dial back the tension of the cleats until they pop out with basically zero resistance, and then just gradually tighten them up.BuddhaHat
    • I'm stoked to hear you're enjoying riding! Core strength is good for putting less pressure on hands, you can double-wrap grip tape if your hands still hurt.BuddhaHat
    • If your junk starts going numb on longer rides, tilt the saddle nose down a tiny bit, and get some decent shorts with a good chamois/pad in them :)BuddhaHat
    • Well done, Hijo!dmay
    • Great job Hijo.Ramanisky2
    • Seconding Buddha on the saddle, you'll be getting Thank You cards in the mail from your nuts. Also seconding the core strength.garbage
    • I recommend V-sits and planks, but as with everything in life: dip your toe in. I didn't even mean to make that joke but I'm leaving it.garbage
    • YEAH BOIII!!!
