The power of billions of nuclear bombs did not kill the dinosaurs.

    Major extinction events:
    1. Ordovician-Silurian Extinction:
Estimated Loss: Roughly 85% of marine species.
    2. Late Devonian Extinction:
Estimated Loss: Around 70% of marine species.
    3. End-Permian Extinction (The Great Dying):
Estimated Loss: About 96% of marine species and 70% of terrestrial vertebrate species.
    4. Triassic-Jurassic Extinction:
Estimated Loss: Around 70% of terrestrial and marine species.
    5. Cretaceous-Paleogene (K-Pg) Extinction:
Estimated Loss: About 75% of all species.

It is not the end of THE world, it's the end of A world.

    • As a particularly self-involved species, the end of us IS the end of the world. To us, at least. I'm sure the birds will continue dinosauring around...Nairn
    • I think even us as a species will be able to continue although in a limited sense. My main beef being that it's an ethical issue more than a preservationist onepalimpsest
