I like wordpress but they don't encourage you to think outside the box when it comes to veering away from this cookie cutter "posts" method. First off, there is a bunch of ugly cluttered bullshit all around each "post". I don't want to display the author, or have a search box to search posts, I don't want none of that. First off, this is very narrow minded. As I add content to the site, I want to do it dynamically, not linearly. A stream of time based blog posts is linear. Why do I have to design linearly? It's 2023 FFS!

I'd like to have a nice, rich home page. I finally figured out how to make the patreon button display on my home page, using a blog post, but it looks like crap and half the time on mobile the embed doesn't show up (although the gap of dead space is there) properly.

Anyway, back to designing. Button blocks are stupid and embeds are kinda hard sometimes.

One day I'll be a wordpress ninja. Not today.

    • It's just a basic cms that can be extended to do almost anything. I agree the blog model is past it's best before but I like the core of wp.spot13
    • I prefer the Roots Bedrock framework as a starter for most sites: https://roots.io/bed…spot13
